Two rock climbers have been rescued from the edge of a mountain on the Sunshine Coast, after they became stranded.
The LifeFlight Sunshine Coast-based aeromedical crew winched a man and a woman to safety, from a peak within the Glass House Mountains National Park.
LifeFlight stated that a helicopter was tasked, by Retrieval Services Queensland, to the area at 1.40pm on January 29.
“The LifeFlight rescue crew officer was winched down to the climbers before a female and then male were winched back into the helicopter,” the group said.
“The helicopter landed at the base of the mountain where both patients were assessed by Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics.”
The man, in his 20s, and the woman, in her 30s, did not require medical treatment.

The mountains are renowned as a hiking and climbing destination. Several people have died there while many more have been rescued.
The Department of the Environment, Tourism, Science and Innovation urged climbers to be vigilant within the park.
“The Glass House Mountains are not easy climbs. It is important to be prepared so that you can have a safe and enjoyable visit,” the department stated on the park’s website.
