After delivering nearly 9000 babies on the Sunshine Coast and surrounding areas, a respected obstetrician is retiring his forceps.

Dr George Bogiatzis delivered his final baby on December 29, 2025, after providing more than 25 years of service to women and families in the region.

“I delivered my first baby as a medical student at the Royal Women’s Hospital in 1989 and I have never tired of the exhilaration of witnessing a new little person arrive into the world,” Dr Bogiatzis said.

“My commitment to women’s health isn’t ending. It’s evolving.”

Dr Bogiatzis, who holds a Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRANZCOG), will continue to consult from his practice at Nucleus Medical Suites, Buderim and focus exclusively on providing comprehensive gynaecological and fertility care.
