Rachael Fouyaxis took this photo of her son Lucas with rubbish truck driver Coxy at Pelican Waters, and explained why it meant so much.

“My son loves the sounds and the whole concept of bin collection. This has been going on for over a year now. We race out the front of our house every Friday at about 6am, still in our PJs, and wave and watch as our bin is collected. It’s the highlight to our week and we got to know the driver, Coxy.

“But this week, he didn’t do his normal run and was (instead) added to the commercial collection.

“(But) he was so kind to stop when he finished, to show Lucas and (sibling) James the new truck and wish us a Merry Christmas.

“Big shout out to our weekly legend Coxy and the Sunshine Coast Council.”
