A property originally established in 1908 as one of the region’s original dairy farms is on the market.

The 28.3-hectare holding has two separate titles and includes a restored homestead, giving buyers a rare opportunity to own a piece of agricultural heritage combined with modern luxury.

Ray White Rural Dayboro Eumundi selling principal Vicki Pain is marketing the property at 157 Middle Creek Road, Federal, via expressions of interest.

Known as Rosedale Homestead, the property originally operated as a dairy farm and then from 1950 as a dairy and bean farm.

“The property represents a remarkable restoration journey, with more than $1 million invested in bringing the historic homestead back to its former glory while incorporating contemporary comforts,” Ms Pain said.

Original features of the house include decorative ceiling work as well as the front deck, which has been carefully preserved.

The property sprawls over almost 30 hectares.

Owner Simone Inns, who is relocating to the Gold Coast, bought the property in 2021 and said it was named ‘Federal’, after settlers from Federal, near Lismore in northern NSW, branched away.

She said the character of the original bean shed had been reimagined as a man cave. It also has a bar with views over the surrounding mountain range.

“The property has been thoughtfully updated for modern living,” Ms Inns said.

She said when she first bought the property it was run-down and a “near knock-down”.

“I never thought we could take it to the next level – it looked like nothing was salvageable,” she said.

“But we fell in love with the internals of the Queenslander. The property ended up having all the potential, all the possibility.

“This property honours its past while embracing the future.”

The homestead has been lovingly restored.

Ms Inns hoped to use the Rosedale Homestead as a pop-up wedding venue or a professional farmstay, however she said it was now time for someone else to take over the property.

“This property would be perfect for someone looking for an urban change, or someone who might be into organic farming,” she said.

“It’s a property that is so easy to look after and the creek has fresh running water, ensuring year-round water security for horses or cattle.

“The swimming hole was used somewhere around 1950 to the 1980s where local children had lessons to swim.”
