The owners of an acclaimed Italian restaurant have launched a new establishment that promises fresh local seafood, premium meats and a contemporary dining experience.
Kristine and Todd Young, the duo behind Bella Venezia at Mooloolaba, have unveiled their latest venture: Fish House Steak & Grill.
It’s at a prominent site – the former home to Fish on Parkyn and Sakana along the Mooloolaba Spit – at 25 Parkyn Parade.
“There’s something really special about this part of Mooloolaba and it’s well-loved by so many locals and visitors,” Kristine said.
“We’re honoured to build on this legacy with Fish House Steak & Grill, while also introducing something completely fresh to the area.”

Under the leadership of executive chef Ben Achurch, who had accomplished tenure at Bella Venezia and shaped the success of several premier dining destinations, the venue is backed by a team that brings experience and knowledge of the spit’s celebrated seafood culture.
The menu highlights fresh seafood from the Mooloolaba wharves and locally sourced meats from Queensland farmers, as well as a premium dry-aged beef display and a semi-open kitchen where patrons can watch the grill in action.
“The menu brings together the freshest local ingredients from both land and sea, with refined, contemporary techniques,” Kristine said.
“Guests can expect signature dishes like our Glacier 51 toothfish glazed with Peachester honey miso, sashimi-grade Mooloolaba yellowfin tuna and perfectly charred Diamantina Wagyu sirloin.
“The experience is rounded out with a curated wine list, signature cocktails and a dining space that embraces natural textures and open-air elegance with seating for 130 guests, plus a private dining room for up to 14 people.”
Todd said the Fish House Steak & Grill was a signal of renewed vitality in the area.
“Having been part of the Mooloolaba restaurant scene for over two decades, it’s incredibly exciting to witness the evolution that’s happening here,” he said.
“There’s a real sense of growth and energy in the area, and we’re proud to be contributing to that revitalisation with a dining experience that celebrates everything this region has to offer.”

Fish House Steak & Grill, which also offers a relaxed outdoor dining option for dine-in and takeaway fare, is open daily from 6.30am until late.
Reservations are now being taken, with the first customers to be welcomed on August 27.
