A Sunshine Coast suburb is bucking the usual prize home trend, with recent lottery winners choosing to move in and stay put.

The Endeavour Foundation revealed that its past two winners at Little Mountain have settled into their new multimillion-dollar homes, rather than selling up or renting out.

Endeavour Foundation Lotteries general manager Dominic Taylor said the homes and the location held plenty of appeal, and that a third residence was in the offering.

“We’ve been operating lotteries for over 60 years now and, although we always choose new and idyllic locations for every prize home, winners often have various plans,” he said.

“Some temporarily trial their new home (and) some rent it out but most sell it to enjoy the financial gain.

“But here in Little Mountain, our last two winners moved in and immediately embraced the suburb and their new life as Sunshine Coasters, living the dream and mortgage free.

“So, with such a winner’s sparkle to the area, we couldn’t go past Little Mountain for our 63rd anniversary prize home this year, and it’s finally here.”

At $3.27 million, the foundation’s latest prize home is at 53 Rotondo Crescent, in an enviable enclave of stunning new builds.

“This elevated coastal beacon sprawls across three stunning levels, all with panoramic views, blending designer style, luxury and comfort, and a hint of Hollywood glam,” Mr Taylor said.

The multi-level designer home boasts 180-degree views from the Sunshine Coast hinterland to the ocean. Caloundra’s beaches are just under 10 minutes away, while local shops, schools and more than 20 parks are also within a short stroll or drive.

The property offers four spacious bedrooms including a luxurious primary retreat, bespoke kitchen, seamless indoor-outdoor living areas, resort-style pool, dedicated media room, pet zone, dedicated home gym and a large yard.

One of the previous prize home winners, Gillian, said the suburb was a slice of paradise.

“Little Mountain is where big dreams come true,” she said.

She and her husband Mark won a spacious $2.2 million single-level home in 2023.

“If we’d had the chance, we would have built a home exactly the same,” she said.

“It’s just perfect and it’s changed our lives forever.”

She said the newest prize home was a delight.

No. 53 Rotondo Crescent has a large outdoor entertaining area and expansive views.

“As we live just around the corner from the Anniversary Prize Home, I’ve been able to watch as it was being built and can attest to the level of detail that went into this incredible property,” she said.

“Someone is really going to love living there and they’ll love Little Mountain.

“It’s such a green space, and it’s just easy access to anywhere on the Coast.”

According to property data, the average price of a house in the area has soared 18 per cent to a medium of more than million dollars, during the past 12 months.

Unit values have also increased nearly 16 per cent.

Tickets cost $10 and can be purchased at endeavourlotteries.com.au or by calling 1800 634 040. The lottery will close on August 14 at 10pm, with the winner drawn on August 21 at 11am.

All tickets sold will continue to help Endeavour Foundation support people with disability to live their best lives, via meaningful employment pathways, access to community activities and events, learning of life skills, and the opportunity to live comfortably in custom-built homes that meet individual needs.
