A growing French bakery chain known for its artisanal pastries and decadent desserts is bringing a taste of indulgence to the region with its first Sunshine Coast store.
Translating to ‘the good choice’ in French, Le Bon Choix has become known for its buttery almond croissants, crusty baguettes, creamy quiches and rich mousse cakes.
With a strong presence across Brisbane and the Gold Coast, the bakery has expanded to the region with its newest store now open at Sunshine Plaza.
Le Bon Choix founder and owner Savico Basset-Rouge said this was the biggest and best store to date.
“This is our 11th store – but it’s our biggest and best yet. We spared no expense on the design,” he said.
“We wanted to create something truly special for the Sunshine Coast community.”

The new Sunshine Plaza location features a multimillion-dollar fit-out with indoor and outdoor dining, plus a custom-built children’s play area and takeaway options.

“We’re very conscious of the cost-of-living pressure these days,” Mr Basset-Rouge said.
“We’re proud to offer people a luxurious place to dine – without the fine dining price tag – but with food that far exceeds the standard fast-food experience.”

Le Bon Choix also caters to the growing demand for fresh, healthy lunches on the go.
“The standard sandwich isn’t enough anymore. It needs to excite people, offer variety and avoid artificial preservatives,” he said.
“Our sandwiches are made with bread baked the same morning you eat it. The difference is incredible.”
With the arrival of cooler weather, a hearty capsicum and sweet potato soup with freshly baked bread rolls has also been added to the menu.
Le Bon Choix is located opposite Myer on Level 1 of the Sunshine Plaza.
