A mother and daughter have channelled their enthusiasm for real estate into their first development on the Sunshine Coast.

Justine and Tiarn Day have crafted a duplex with two townhouses, each with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, at Langura Street in Warana.

Tiarn said she had held a passion for property since she was young, when Justine was flipping houses.

“Property has always been a dinner-table discussion topic for us,” she said.

“About five years ago, mum and I started investing in and developing property seriously.

“It’s been a great experience so far and our skills really complement each other.

“My mum is very much on the backend managing the numbers and feasibility.

“Then we meet in the middle, working closely on the DA through to the start of construction.

“I work more on the project management and design side as well as sourcing the properties.”

They both work full-time, with Justine running a successful bookkeeping practice and Tiarn leading the investment division at a renowned buyer’s agency while completing her studies in property economics.

Developers Justine and Tiarn Day have made an impression on the Sunshine Coast real estate scene.

“Our whole reason for developing is setting up our future and building generational wealth through property,” Tiarn said.

“When we build something we build it like we’re building it for ourselves as we really believe in quality.

“We put a lot of thought into the design to prioritise practicality and seamless living.”

Tiarn said this was their first development on the Sunshine Coast.

“Part of the reason we decided to build on the Sunshine Coast is that my mum fell in love with the area and it ticked all the boxes for her in terms of future retirement plans,” she said.

“We actually want to keep one of the residences for our own.

“We have also sourced our next development site on the Sunshine Coast already, on Oceanic Drive in Warana.”

Ray White Maroochydore’s Lachie Woods, the marketing agent for 1/3 Langura Street, said he’d received a lot of interest from downsizers in the property.

“There’s a lot of local movement at the moment with people selling their larger homes and downsizing to something smaller,” he said.

“Thanks to the lift access in the duplex the eventual buyer can enjoy the luxury of single-level living but with separation across two levels.”

It features three bedrooms, two bathrooms and two car spaces. It has 249sqm of living space, natural stone, hickory flooring and American oak, elevator access and a swimming pool with stone feature wall. It’s 100m to the beach.

The property went under contract two weeks before its planned auction on May 17, with Mr Woods and Ray White Kawana agent Ryan Bradely marketing the property.
