A new burger bar tucked within a popular local hangout is serving up a different style of the classic street food.

With a menu that focuses on smashed burgers, the brand has grown from a few pop-up events to having a permanent spot within a thriving Noosa bar.

Hahaha Burgers focuses on “simple, honest food” and bringing people together for a good time.

The brand was formed by three Argentinians with a united passion to share food, and the name is a playful twist on the word ‘hamburger’.

Located within Village Bicycle at Noosa Junction, Hahaha Burgers’ Dolo Ingrassia said the menu reflected the philosophy of the brand.

“We focus on doing a few things, but doing them exceptionally well,” she told Sunshine Coast News.

Hahaha Burgers specialises in smashed burgers.

“(The menu) features three special beef burgers, available in both single and double versions, a delicious veggie option and, of course, our irresistible fries.”

All the burgers are made using the smashed burger technique, which is fast becoming popular in Europe and America.

“Smashed burger is a technique used to create the perfect balance of texture – crispy on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside – by pressing the beef onto the griddle,” Ms Ingrassia said.

“While many places serve this style, what sets us apart is our unique beef blend, crafted from three different cuts for maximum flavour, and the way we serve it: wrapped, which enhances the taste and makes every bite even more satisfying.”

Hahaha Burgers is located at Noosa Junction.

The menu includes the signature burger The Hahaha; plus The Okla, inspired by the legendary Oklahoma-style onion burger; and The Streaky, featuring crispy bacon and a rich, sweet barbecue sauce.

Ms Ingrassia said the signature Hahaha sauce was “addictive” with a slight kick of spice and a touch of sweetness.

“It’s the perfect balance of sweetness with a hint of sriracha, enhancing the flavour of our burgers in just the right way,” she said.

“You can also order it as a dip for your fries, making every bite even more addictive.”

Ms Ingrassia, who runs the business with her brother Paddy and their friend Tom, said after recently moving to Australia the trio wanted to bring something different to the local burger scene.

“We quickly noticed that Noosa was missing a top-tier smashed burger experience and so, determined to fill this gap, we set out to create something truly special,” she said.

“Our initial plan was to host events or participate in local markets to showcase our culinary creations.

“However, fate took a delightful turn when our paths crossed with Village Bicycle.

“What started as a causal connection with a favourite local bar evolved into a fantastic partnership that allowed us to merge our passion for crafting exceptional burgers with a vibrant community space.”

She said the Hahaha trio were busy experimenting with different flavours from their home kitchen in September last year before a series of causal events led to the new partnership.

“After hosting a few intimate events for friends that received amazing feedback, we knew we had something special to share with our community,” she said.

“Inspired by this success, we connected with … Village Bicycle and decided to host pop-up events on two Sundays in December and January.

“The response was overwhelming, with an average of 170 burgers sold per event.”

Hahaha Burgers is open within Village Bicycle on Sunshine Beach Road, Noosa Heads, from Wednesday to Sunday.
