“I just took this pic of what I think is a Christmas beetle in the rain here at Palmwoods. Very vibrant. Probably 3cm long. I’m not sure if the rain has brought this one out. I also have seen two snails recently, which I had never seen in more than 20 years living here,” writes Richard Bruinsma. He later discovered it is a rainbow stag beetle.
