The public announcement of a new principal for 2024 meant there was more than the usual buzz in the air for the return to school this week at a prominent Sunshine Coast college.
Immanuel Lutheran College has announced the appointment of new principal Eloise Beveridge, who will take up the position in January 2024.
The announcement comes after current principal Colin Minke accepted the role of executive director at Lutheran Education Victoria, New South Wales and Tasmania.
With more than 20 years of leadership experience in Lutheran education across three states, Ms Beveridge brings a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to fostering community and connection within our schools.
“My passion is creating community and connection in our Lutheran schools. I believe our young people are in their school years at an exciting time, change abounds. Our communities and our world need amazing, confident young people with a heart to serve, a skillset that can take them to any corner of the world, and a desire to be a lifelong learner,” she said.
She also highlighted her passion for innovation and empowering learning communities to excel, and she looks forward to returning to Southeast Queensland, her home state, after spending recent years in Victoria.
“We are thrilled to welcome Eloise as our new principal,” Immanuel Lutheran College Council chair Matt Webster said.
“Her leadership and vision align perfectly with our mission of nurturing the ‘whole child,’ and we are confident that she will guide Immanuel into a bright and exciting future.”
Immanuel Lutheran College expressed its thanks to Mr Minke for his leadership over the past eight years, during which he oversaw transformative developments on the campus, including the redevelopment of the primary school and significant works in the senior school and broader campus.
