Car Parking Crackdown
It seems Sunshine Coast Council are a money hungry bunch (revenue raising); who find it easier to fine people for overstaying their welcome for a few minutes, rather than find solutions to the parking issues.
How are you expected to go to the Doctor, Chemist, Dentist, Banking, Grocery shopping within a two-hour timeframe?
I find it really hard just to visit Nambour for a grocery shop. It is difficult for hinterland residents to undertake all of their business in two hours.
How much ratepayer’s money has been spent on these high-tech cars, running costs and drivers?
Nambour has been lacking parking for many years and yet nobody gets that we need more parking in Nambour and businesses wonder why they do not receive the support.
Sunshine Coast Council is reactive (only do something when a complaint is received) not proactive in resolving existing issues; to provide more parking.
WE NEED MORE PARKING, not more FINES!

ParkSmart?
Here we go. This happened in Sydney Manly Beach, making it prohibitive due to cost, for families to park.
Just another council revenue raiser to compensate for its high spending budget and its ever-increasing employee numbers.

It’s a pity so many of them got parking fines, very mean action by Sunshine Coast Council!

Dredging ‘Dingbats’
How bright of the Sunshine Coast Council to dredge Moreton Bay and cart the sand to Maroochydore?
How much brainpower would it involve to dredge the sandbars in Pummistone Passage as is being requested by some Caloundra interests and solve two problems at one cost?
Oh no, we have to make a grand gesture to look important. All Dingbats.

Building Heights
Good foresight Noosa Shire Council.
Master Plan the Junction Precinct. Show nodes of mixed use. Allow development varying heights with appropriate variations of setbacks that will encourage developers to participate in the rebirth of our Junction to our greatest expectations. The Junction Precinct, The Gate House and heartbeat of Noosa Heads.
Doonella site: as we all know, it’s at the back of the shops. Increased height will not block any views, in fact increased height has the potential to see develop in a manner that would gain nice north warm sunshine.
Increased height would benefit the design giving advantage for lake views.
Increased height would provide increased density, meaning more housing and meaning more financial contribution for headworks from the Developer.
Personally, I believe the height should be more than the relaxation offered with bargaining about providing at least two levels of underground car parking in addition to headworks contributions.
