Lisa Curry has used an appearance on national TV, where she revealed a health diagnoses that came totally out of the blue, to remind people to ‘be kind’.
Speaking on morning TV today about her ‘crazy’ 2022 so far, the Sunshine Coast local revealed she had been hospitalised twice this year with atrial fibrillation: a condition that causes the heart to beat erratically with no warning.
“I don’t know where I have got that – it has just appeared,” she said.
As part of her treatment, she is steering clear of alcohol and coffee.

Atrial fibrillation can drastically affect the heart’s pumping effectiveness, resulting in feelings of dizziness, weakness, tiredness and chest pains. It affects about 500,000 Australians.
In 2008, Ms Curry underwent heart surgery for a condition known as Myocarditis, which can lead to cardiac arrest if left unchecked, and had a cardioverter-defibrillator inserted in her chest.
She reportedly underwent another 90-minute surgery ordeal in 2015 to fix the life-saving device after doctors told her the batteries to the defibrillator were failing and that she needed a newer model fitted.
“I know all the stress points, I know all the stress triggers, so looking after myself has taken a bit of a back seat,” she said of her hectic year.
Ms Curry outlined her busy 2022 activities calendar, including walking up Mt Kosciuszko with her late daughter Jaimi’s ashes, selling and buying property, the launch of a best-selling book, speaking engagements and community work.

“Everyone has a story, everyone has ups and downs in their lives, everybody has victories, everyone has sorrow, tragedy, trauma, happiness,” she told the hosts of Channel 7’s The Morning Show.
“You know, there’s so many things happening in the world at the moment, and my one really big message for everyone – for 2022 going into 2023 – is be kind to each other, and family is everything, love is everything, be kind.”
