Start planning your summer or autumn escape — Jetstar has launched a sale for flights from the Sunshine Coast starting at just $60.

Travellers can depart Sunshine Coast Airport for a getaway in Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney from November to May, but you have to be quick.

The sale is on for only four days or until seats sell out.

The flight special is a partnership between Visit Sunshine Coast and Jetstar to encourage southerners to come north.

But it also means Coast locals can make the most of the heavily discounted airfares.

Sunshine Coast Airport CEO Andrew Brodie said Jetstar had brought the bulk of passengers to the Coast in June.

“This partnership will encourage travellers to book a trip outside of peak travel periods and will support our tourism industry within the wider catchment area,” sais Mr Brodie.

“With direct connections from Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney, I would encourage our southern friends to take advantage of these amazing one-way fares, all of which could be cheaper than the cost of filling your car with a tank of petrol right now.

“I would also urge locals to take advantage of these fares to explore the southern states. Whether it’s Sydney’s calendar of events, the football in Melbourne or Adelaide’s wineries, these airfares are great value”.

Visit Sunshine Coast CEO Matt Stoeckel said the campaign provided a fantastic incentive for travellers to book a Sunshine Coast escape.

“With prices from as little as $60 these sales fares will have travellers ‘walking on sunshine’,” he said.

“The promotion is a big step towards getting our interstate markets back to where they were before the pandemic.

“Demand for the Sunshine Coast continues to be strong, and this promotion is timed to capitalise on this demand and fill some needs periods in our calendar.”
