Kawana Bowls Club’s Ryan Burnett is savouring a second Sunshine Coast Champion of Champions title, after defeating Woombye’s Doug Toglanini in a see-sawing game 25-20.
He also skipped a Kawana team to victory in the region’s Fours Champion of Champions competition.
Burnett, Darren Madrill, Richard Strawbridge and Kurt Brown snared a convincing win over Club Maroochy’s team, skipped by Richard Scott.
Burnett is a former Scotland pairs champion, who won the world under-25s title in 2015.
He will next attempt to win the Sunshine Coast Champion of Champions Pairs.
The Ladies Champion of Champions singles title was also won by a Kawana player, with Julie Keegan defeating Nambour Heights’ Karen Neil in a closely-fought match.
It was a great effort by Neil, who made the Australian representative earn the title.
Neil defeated the recent Australian under-18 runner-up Chloe Runge (Glass House) in the semi-finals.

Both events were held at the Coolum Bowls Club in front of a large crowd of spectators and supporters.
Meanwhile, several Sunshine Coast bowlers impressed at the recent Australian Open Championships on the Gold Coast.
Runge was defeated in the under-18 final by South Australian champion Kate Argent-Bowden.
Kawana duo Judie Waites and Jane Bush reached the final in the Ladies Over 60s pairs but were defeated 17-15 by two experienced Queensland players, Marree Gibbs and Sue Brady, via the last bowl of the final end.
