Rugby league mastermind Craig Bellamy is set to inspire guests at a special function on the Sunshine Coast.

The 61-year-old will speak at a luncheon fundraiser at Alexandra Headland Surf Club on February 19, to support the local club’s youth development program.

Bellamy is expected to talk about what it takes to lead, and why the Melbourne Storm have  been so successful.

A three-time Dally M Coach of the Year, Bellamy has steered the Storm to three titles, including last year, with another two stripped from them because of salary cap breaches. He boasts a game winning percentage of about 70%.

Surf club officials are delighted to welcome him.

“Alex Club is pleased Craig has made himself available for this occasion as his experiences with leadership and teamwork is of relevance to the emergency marine incidents and care we are familiar with, where a successful and positive outcome can be the direct result of planned and practised prior training and preparation,” a press release said.

“Our upcoming Leadership Luncheon is an event that will raise much needed funds towards the Club’s Youth Development Fund.
