From Flab to Fab

When I weighed 100 kilos, I felt very self-conscious of my size. I remember meeting new people would fill me with dread and worst of all seeing someone whom I hadn’t seen in a while was a nightmare. I could see them thinking “wow hasn’t Annette gained a lot of weight”. It could have been my imagination playing tricks on me but this is the problem when you are obese, you tend to worry about what others think of you. I remember when I would go to the beach the first thing I would do was look for was someone who was bigger than me, silly isn’t it but I think when you are overweight you just want to fit in and not stand out too much. Slim people have no idea how it feels to be overweight. Comments that I have heard such as “how can you let yourself go like this” or “why do you need to eat so much” can really hurt, as they just don’t know what it is like to be obese. I tried to act like I didn’t care and that I was happy but to be honest I was crying on the inside. If you have a weight problem then I beg you to do something about it. I know from my own personal experience how you feel and if you are unhappy and unwell then you must do something about it before it is too late. Carrying excess weight can mean back and limb injuries, stress on the heart and other vital organs and eating a high fat, high kilojoule diet can lead to many health problems. If you take on the challenge I can guarantee you will feel better straight away. Once I made the decision to become a healthy person and lose my excess weight I felt so much better. At least I now was doing all I could to be the best I could be, which is all you can ask of yourself. Start now, and make every day the best day it can be. Having the right frame of mind is vital to long-term success and having small realistic goals along the way will help keep you focused and committed to your weight loss success. Only you can make this decision and if you take on the challenge of improving your weight and health you will not only reap the rewards of being slim and trim but good health awaits you. So step up to the challenge of shedding those unwanted kilos and let the new you surface. I know you can do it!
