Books Make A Come Back in Caboolture

by Lifeline - Sunshine Coast
March 08, 2010
Lifeline Community Care is currently scouring the coast for the ten thousand plus books that it requires for the thriving Bookfest it holds every year in Caboolture. Volunteers are hastily collecting, packing and unpacking in an effort to continue the successes the annual Bookfest has had in previous years.

Being held at the Caboolture Centenary Lakes Indoor Basketball courts on the April 10th, 11th and 12th this year, the bookworm fantasy will be brought to fruition while visitors weave through the shelves and tables in a delight of fiction, faction, fantasy and escapism.

The Bookfest will open each day at 8:30 a.m. and close at 4 p.m. with a flurry of volunteers madly restacking for the next day! The Rural Fire Brigade will be providing delectable sausages on bread to help with their own fundraising efforts.

Being the largest book sale in the Greater Sunshine Coast Region in previous years, history tells this Bookfest is sure to attract avid readers from as far south as Brisbane and north to our reaches in Gympie.

Many volunteers are attracted to the Bookfest year after year for the passion and comradery they are offered in return for their help. Volunteers are still being sought out to help stack, sort, shelve and transport the donated and pre-loved books the Lifeline Bookfest will present the book-loving residents from near and far.

Lifeline is still seeking quality donations and volunteers to help make the Bookfest the huge success it has always been. If you have donations or would like to donate your time for the love of books and the spirit of charity don’t hesitate to contact Debbie The Book Connoisseur on the details below.

The Bookfest will run from Saturday 10th April through until Monday 12th. For additional information please phone Debbie Gibson on 5428 4200 or 0438 150 702 or email debbie.gibson@lccq.org.au
