THREE people were taken to hospital after a serious traffic crash at the Sunshine Coast yesterday. Around 1.40pm three vehicles were involved in a collision on the Sunshine Motorway at Coolum. The first vehicle, a sedan, contained a 29-year-old Palmwoods woman, who was taken to Royal Brisbane Hospital with leg and internal injuries. She is believed to be in a critical but stable condition. The second vehicle, a utility, contained the 30-year-old female driver from Maroochydore who was taken to Nambour Hospital in a serious but stable condition. The second vehicle also contained a 31-year-old Maroochydore man who was a passenger. He was taken to Royal Brisbane Hospital with leg and internal injuries and is believed to be in a critical but stable condition. The third vehicle managed to avoid the crash and swerved onto an embankment. It is not believed anyone in that car was injured.
