POLICE are seeking the driver of a stolen vehicle that failed to stop at a police intercept site on the Bruce Highway at Glenview shortly before 11 o’clock on Wednesday night. The grey Ford Falcon sedan continued northbound along the Bruce Highway, driving at high speed through a 40kmh active road works zone in a closed lane causing workers to take evasive action. A police officer performing duties at the road works attempted to stop the vehicle but also had to take evasive action before his torch was knocked from his hand by the car as it passed. The same car had earlier been involved in a traffic offence and was pursued by police through Caboolture around 3pm. The vehicle was later located abandoned at Nambour. The driver is still outstanding.
