ANZAC Day Ceremony
On Tuesday 24th April we will hold our ANZAC Day ceremony at the school. Parents are invited to attend our ceremony at 9:25 am.

Parent/Teacher Interviews
Following the issue of student reports Parent/Teacher interviews will be held at the school on Wednesday 9th May from 1:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Students have received an appointment booking slip.

Stuart West Workshop—sponsored by the Queensland Council of Parents and Citizens’ Associations
Parents are invited to attend a Stuart West Workshop in P. Block at the school on Thursday, 26th April, 2007—6:30 for 7:00 pm, a project being undertaken by the Queensland Studies Authority, which aims to define Essential Learnings and set new standards for assessing and reporting student achievement in the early and middle years of schooling.

Parent Morning Tea
Our next Parent Morning Tea will be held on Tuesday 29 May. To coincide with Education Week, our theme for this morning tea is ‘Back to School’. Parents are invited to join in a day at school as a student.

International Study Tour
Our school is again hosting a group of 20 Japanese study tour students this year from 28 July—10 August. These students come from Keihoku Gakuen High School. We are looking for host families to look after each student during their stay. We would like to house these students singularly to allow them to gain the most from their Australian experience. Anyone interested in hosting a Japanese student is asked to call 5498 0111 and ask for Donna.

Positions Vacant:
School Crossing Supervisor
A casual position exists for a School Crossing Supervisor (afternoons only) at our school. Applications in writing must address the selection criteria as listed in the position description, available from the office. Applications close Monday 30th April, 2007.

Relief Teacher Aide
We would like to establish a pool of suitable relief Teacher Aides, for times when permanent staff are on leave. If you have word processing skills, are willing to learn other office duties and assist in our Health room, please submit an expression of interest, outlining any suitable experience or skills to the school, marked “Attention Registrar”. Applicants will require a Working with Children “Blue Card” or be prepared to obtain one.

Grease is the Word
The countdown is on — one month until our School Musical ‘Grease” is performed. Tickets are now on sale at the Cashier: $30.00 for a family pass: two adults, two children; $10.00 for adults; and $8.00 for students, children and concession.

Jump Rope for Heart
What do you get when you cross 300 Year 8 students with 100 skipping ropes of various sizes, some hip music, and a whole lot of oranges and fruit icicles? You get Jump rope for Heart 2007. What a session! Most importantly the students fund-raised over $1500 for the Heart Foundation to support their valuable research programs.

Sport
Our Kabulls Sports Academy teams took on the might of their respective teams from North Lakes State College at the end of Term 1. In what could only be described as a convincing first hit out, Kabulls teams won the League, Netball and Girls’ Touch whilst the Boys’ Touch displayed plenty of promise.

In the Senior school, our Year 11 Recreation students took the challenge and abseiled a mighty 50 metres off Mt Timbeerwah. This term the 11 Recreation students will be participating in the Healthy and Active Initiative run by the office of Federal Member for Longman—Mal Brough. Year 12 Recreation students and staff will be attending their camp at Apex camp, Mudjimba.

Our school’s annual Cross Country Carnival is on Tuesday 8th May, 2007, at Centenary Lakes, Caboolture, during Periods 3 and 4.
