From a childhood in post-war Germany to explorations in Europe and North Africa, author Martin Kari will share stories of his tumultuous life journey at a free Author Talk at Caloundra Library on Monday 13 July.
Kari will talk about his six autobiographical books that examine diverse issues ranging from culture and travel to politics and terrorism, which are drawn from his personal experience of living on five continents throughout his life.
Born to a traditional farmer family of Transylvania in Dracula-country (Romania) in 1941, Kari escaped as a child during World War II to Germany. Over the following decades he lived and worked across five continents including Europe, North Africa and Asia before retiring in “Down Under”.
It is here where Kari rekindled his passion for writing after identifying a need to continue “real world” dialogue with people from all corners of the globe that he could otherwise not reach.
Kari will share these stories and recount how he translated them into six successful books including Journey of a lifetime (volumes 1 and 2), Australia: a migrant experience, Terror: a disease and Road to Nitmiluk.
The Author Talk begins at 10am at Caloundra Library and includes light refreshments. Bookings are essential. Phone Caloundra Library on 5491 1255 to book your free spot.
