THREE separate annual shows and associated show holidays will continue across the Sunshine Coast region in 2009.

The Minister for Employment and Industrial Relations, under the provisions of the Holidays Act 1983, has appointed:

Friday 29 May 2009 a holiday for the former Caloundra City Council area of the Sunshine Coast Region for the purpose of the Maleny Agricultural Show

Friday 12 June 2009 a holiday for the former Maroochy Shire Council area of the Sunshine Coast Region for the purpose of the Sunshine Coast Annual Show

Friday 11 September 2009 a holiday for the former Noosa Shire Council area of the Sunshine Coast Region for the purpose of the Noosa Country Show

The Sunshine Coast Council is working with the community and stakeholders to determine the future of the shows and show holidays from 2010.

Council will consider the options early next year and will make recommendations to the state government when asked to nominate special holidays for 2010.
