How to contribute to Sunshine Coast News

We are currently accepting contributions from the Sunshine Coast community for local news. If you want your version of current local events read by hundreds of visitors every day then please apply to be a news contributor. Members of sporting and community organisations this is your chance to have your own free news section to publish your news.

The process

Step 1. Register as a contributor

• Click here to fill out our simple registration form. (this will open in a new window so you can still refer to this page)
• 
  Please note: the Organisation name you fill in is the one our readers will see when choosing their news options, so something clear like "Sunshine Beach SS" should be used. It will also be used to create a webpage of all your news items like such as: http://www.sunshinecoastnews.com.au/SunshineBeachSS/  (this will open in a new window)
• The default category is the one you are most likely to be adding to, but it is not the only one you be able to submit to.
• After you have submitted the registration form you will be directed to the control panel as seen below.

Step 2. Add your news item

• In the control panel, that shows whenever you are logged as a contributor, click on the link that says Add News Item. (as seen above)
• Fill in the form (as seen below) to add your news:
• 
  Title- A few words as a headline that will make people want to read further.
  Author- Your name or your organisation. This will be shown online.
  Images- If you wish you can upload an image from your computer that will shown with the story.
  News type- Choose the category that your news article fits best.
  Subtype- Choose the sub-category.
  Main text- This is where you can either type or paste your full article.

  Press the submit button and your article will be stored to be checked by the editor and added within the next day.
